Architectural & Construction Studio
Architectural & Construction Studio has continuously carried out architectural design and spatial planning activities from 1992 to the present day.
Architecture and urban planning contain within them a paradox that is difficult to overcome. Even when buildings or urban spaces are at their most advanced today and optimally designed for the needs and aspirations of modern people, they inevitably become outdated and remain fixed in space, while the people who live there continuously change and create new needs for spaces that are still unknown today.
Architectural & Construction Studio, in the tension between routine and adventure, creates its own canons and is driven by disbelief in its own previously built schemes, ready to question even what seemed certain only yesterday. Its inspiration remains independent of stylistic instructions and ideological dictates, regardless of whether they originate from political, philosophical, sociological or aesthetic schools.
Team
Arsen Čupev
M.Arch.Born in 1985 in Rijeka, where he completed primary school and the Italian secondary school (science and mathematics track). He studied in Trieste, where he graduated in 2011 from the Faculty of Architecture.
He has been employed at the Architectural & Construction Studio since 2011 and has participated in projects of all types and scales.

Vladi Bralić
PhDHe graduated in 1985 from the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Dr. N. Segvić.
At the doctoral postgraduate scientific study programme Architecture and Urban Planning at the same faculty, he defended his doctoral dissertation in 2021 titled Cultural Landscape of Goli Otok.
In 1992 he founded his own design office, the Architectural & Construction Studio in Rijeka, where he has worked ever since.

Projects and Spatial Planning
From concept to realization. Architecture, urban planning and spatial planning.Preparation of all required project documentation
We prepare all required projects and technical studies for construction, interior design projects, landscape design projects, as-built documentation and architectural surveys of the completed state, demolition projects and existing building condition surveys. Over many years of practice, we have completed more than a hundred projects of various uses and forms. In architecture, these include conceptual designs presenting the core technical, functional and formal solutions of a building, used for obtaining location permits or building condition approvals; main designs containing the technical and other solutions required to meet the essential legal requirements for buildings, used for obtaining building permits and confirmations of the main design; and finally, detailed execution designs focused on construction details, used during the building process and its supervision.
Architectural studies and visualisations
We prepare architectural studies and visualisations using contemporary three-dimensional computer graphics technology or traditional physical models, for the purpose of testing and exploring spatial concepts and communicating architectural and urban visions to investors and planners.
Projects for the protection and preservation of cultural heritage
We carry out professional work related to the documentation of immovable cultural heritage and the preparation of conceptual, main and execution designs for protected heritage sites. Individual authorisations from the Croatian Ministry of Culture for these activities are held by our architects Borko Zugan and Vladi Bralić. Within the programme for the restoration and rehabilitation of buildings registered as individual cultural heritage assets or located within protected urban ensembles, we have prepared numerous projects, including the restoration of sacral and other historic buildings, roofs and façades from the periods of historicism, secession and modernism within the protected urban zone of Rijeka.
Spatial planning documents
We carry out professional spatial planning services based on authorisations granted by the Croatian Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction. We prepare drafts of urban development plans and spatial or general urban plans, reports on the condition of space, as well as tasks related to the preparation and adoption of such planning documents. Urban studies, analyses and variant urban-architectural solutions are a special field of interest through which we explore space and the possibilities of its future development.
Construction supervision
We provide professional and designer supervision during construction in order to ensure the final realization of the architectural concept established by our projects and to secure execution of works in accordance with applicable regulations.
Integrated management of the design and construction process
We provide consulting and integrated management of the design and construction process on behalf of the investor, with the aim of ensuring successful and lawful construction in accordance with their requirements and interests.
